(inspired by Stowey Castle)
Walk up and over my grazed ruins;
Observe my long-breached defences
Toppled by time.
Ask yourself why humanity
Continues to scar the Earth's surface
With the spoil-heaps of war.
How many more walls must fall
And like casualties, lie mounded, like graves;
Buried by insecurity.
Now imagine a world without walls.
Of all embracing 360 degree views.
Is that not the freedom you're fighting for?
Look, from me, onto a sea of change,
Collaborative cranes hoist Hinkley aloft;
French, Chinese, English, building the future, as one.
Or, just another wall?
Future mushroom-cloud,
Rubble?
A Wensley
